There could be no definition of a successful life that does not include service to others.

TIMOTHY E. NETTLES MEMORIAL FOUNDATION &
ANNUAL TRI-STATE PROFESSIONAL GOLF INVITATIONAL
The TEN Memorial Invitational was created in 2020 to celebrate a life of generous giving, meaningful relationships, and the great game of golf - all loved and valued by its namesake inspiration, Timothy E. "T-Bone" Nettles.
In partnership with the Tri-State PGA, the TEN Memorial Invitational is played each Fall at the St. Clair Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA. This pro-am event welcomes more than 100 golfers and fans alike, all convening because they either love the game of golf, know and love T-Bone and his family, or both.
The foundation behind this annual event is the Timothy E. Nettles Memorial Foundation – an organization committed to charity, camaraderie, and competition. Donations and proceeds from the annual event benefit many worthy non-profits that support local golf, education, and community development.
Tim’s loving wife, Diane H. Nettles, PhD, is an author and retired university professor. When her husband passed away suddenly, she began a new life as a WWPD (woman whose partner died). By leaning on humor and positivity, she discovered that it is, indeed, possible to grab those bungee cords and enjoy the exhilarating ride that life can bring. Her book, Grab Life by the Bungees* – And 50+ Other Ways to Find Humor, Hope, and Happiness After Your Partner Has Died, was published in early 2024.
Diane is donating 100% of the royalties from the sale of her book to the Timothy E. Nettles Memorial Foundation.
The Nettles family has found ways to channel their love and respect for Tim into a continuing legacy of purpose. This professional golf tournament enables Diane and her sons Chuck and Tom to give back to the community Tim Nettles loved and supported, while at the same time growing his generous legacy. Whether it is the foundation, the charities it supports, or the joy and hope found in Diane's book, they are making a difference in the lives of many people.
